It examines the risks and ethical challenges that need to be addressed and overseen to ensure that the use of artificial intelligence (AI) provides benefits and avoids harm. The paper delves into practical and technical challenges and solutions, by bringing the perspectives of practitioners, academics, and technologists in Canada’s AI ecosystem (listed in the paper) on how some of the human-rights risks introduced by AI systems are being and can be managed during the product development life cycle. The Canadian Regulatory Technology Association (CRTA) is pleased to announce that it has appointed three additional advisors to its Strategic Advisory Board. The advisors are Paul Childerhose – Managing Director, Maple Peak Group Inc.; Laurie Clark – Founder and Principal, Canchek; and Guy Robert –Principal, Resolution Compliance Consulting Inc. (RCC). These appointments bring strong leadership, technology and financial talent to our advisory group and will help us broaden our reach into Eastern and Western Canada.
We are happy to announce our official partnership with Fintech Cadence. Fintech Cadence provides multiple programs for Canada's Fintech community. They focus on three pillars 1) Educate 2) Support Early-stage start-up and 3) collaborate with financial institutions to help solve industry challenges.
The intent of the partnership is to work together in research initiatives and the development of RegTech within the Canadian financial services ecosystem.
