As governments around the world struggled to keep up with an ever-advancing digital world, the need to address individual privacy as it relates to the collection of personal information and the use of artificial intelligence became evident. The Canadian government introduced Bill C-27 as its second attempt to replace the outdated PIPEDA and provide regulatory oversight to protect individual privacy rights.
