Meet Anthony DeCristofaro, CEO of Qnext Corp.

Tell us a little about your organization and why you got into this space.

Selected as a Red Herring Top 100 global winner for zero-trust remote data access and sharing of hybrid IT on premises, SharePoint and cloud-hosted storage, Qnext is recognized as one of the technology industry’s most exciting and innovative private companies. Our FileFlex Enterprise product is designed to support the modern Hybrid-IT corporate storage structure with the highest level of security, including a zero-trust data access (ZTDA) platform and support for integration with the latest Intel SGX secure enclave technology.  This fills the gaps of current market offerings and is the only product to meet the quickly evolving needs of an organization to secure the data that is being accessed and shared by their remote workforce.
Who are your clients and what types of regulatory challenges are they facing?

Our clients include financial institutions, hospitals and health care, military consultants, engineering, architecture and law firms, construction companies and general businesses.  They need to be able to comply to global regulations like GDPR, to local health care regulations, privacy regulations, financial regulations, and industry and professional standards.

What type of emerging technology do you think will have the greatest impact on your business/industry?

With the massive movement to remote working and COVID-19, we have a disruptive solution for remote access and sharing because it is secured via a zero-trust platform, replacing the need for a VPN for most workers, and supports the entire hybrid-IT infrastructure.   Just this month we saw the hack of 900 ‘secure’ enterprise-grade VPN servers.   The inadequate approach to securing an organization via firewalls, AV software and OS/VPN patches is being replaced by an approach spearheaded by NIST called zero trust.  In this model, no one is trusted – even people who are behind the firewall on your network.  All transactions by all users must always be verified.  When applied and implemented, it greatly aids all regulatory compliance requirements.

Why did you join the CRTA? How do you think the CRTA will help your business (industry)?

The CRTA is an obvious fit to the value proposition of our FileFlex Enterprise product through its industry leadership, members and network.  We look forward to working with CRTA to help Canadian organizations address their regulatory, industry and professional requirements in regards to securing remote access and sharing to their most valuable asset – their data.
