FaceTec, Inc. is the leading global provider of 3D Liveness and 3D Face Matching software for remote identity platforms. Our technology is currently used by U.S. federal and state governments, numerous foreign/sovereign governments, as well as hundreds of commercial entities to verify, enroll and authenticate citizens, customers, and users. Examples include the Colorado Mobile Driver License, U.S. Department of Homeland Security which has incorporated FaceTec's technology into Mobile Trusted Traveler-related programs and the Canadian Parliament for remote voter verification. Over 190,000,000 users worldwide have proven their Liveness remotely with FaceTec on smartphones, tablets, and webcams (including low-end and low-resolution), and with no observable age, gender, or skin-tone biases. To ensure real-world security, FaceTec operates the world’s first-and-only continuous $100,000 Spoof Bounty Program, incentivizing hackers to attempt to beat our biometric security platform. Our software has successfully defended against over 80,000 bounty program attacks to date, allowing us to gain unmatched experience rebuffing today's most sophisticated threats to remote, access management, identity proofing, and biometric authentication systems. Who are your clients and what types of challenges are they facing?
FaceTec typically serves as an OEM technology provider to identity management related service providers and system solution providers, like Onfido, Scytales and Yoti. We provide our 3D face liveness and matching solutions to over 70 solution providers across the globe. Occasionally, however, we work directly with end-user customers, like the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, The Canadian Parliament, Mercardo Libre, Tinder and hundreds of other customers all over the world. Our Partners and customers rely on FaceTec for their user and customer identity verification and authentication. Anywhere access to a granted privilege or an asset is guarded online, FaceTec provides the most advanced and proven biometric liveness and matching, to verify user identities, during enrollment and authentication. What type of emerging technology do you think will have the greatest impact on your business/industry? A number of different technologies impact our business and will continue. Identity Management, user verification and authentication are evolving quickly, because the nature of online fraud is evolving quickly. Bad actors utilize the most cutting-edge AI technologies to hack, spoof or otherwise gain unapproved access to the most valuable online resources, services, and privileges. So, our spoof bounty program, www.spoofbounty.com, provides us with the most cutting-edge insight into the nature of these attacks. With that, our technology has advanced to become the strongest capability in mitigating online fraud. With that, the industry is also evolving, and new credentialing capabilities and systems are starting to emerge, including electronic ID’s (eID) and mobile drivers’ licenses (mDL). These systems, if designed properly, including liveness proven 3D face biometrics, promise to mitigate the majority of online frauds. Why did you join the CRTA? How do you think the CRTA will help your business (industry)? We believe that highly regulated industry, like banking and healthcare among others, represent the highest value targets for online criminals, thieves and fraudsters. So, the Canadian RegTech Association, representing leaders in highly regulated industries, like FinTech, provides an ideal venue to help us educate stakeholders, regarding digital identity-related vulnerabilities and solutions.
