Meet Nick Bray, Senior Business Manager for Canada
Tell us a little about your organization and why you got into this space.
Recognizing the regulatory pressure that firms were under following the 2008 financial crash and the challenges that first generation solutions were facing in trying to manage the volume and velocity of regulatory change, CUBE set about to create the world’s first automated, fully comprehensive Regulatory Intelligence and Regulatory Change Management Solution. Today, CUBE’s platform spans 180 countries, tracking thousands of regulators and millions of regulatory statements, to ensure that our clients receive relevant proposed and enacted changes in a timely manner and know instantly what parts of their organization are impacted.
Who are your clients and what types of regulatory challenges are they facing?
CUBE's clients are exclusively in Financial Services, many of whom are considered to be the world’s largest banks and financial institutions. The common challenge they all face is a need to stay compliant with a rapidly changing regulatory landscape and having the ability to quickly and easily evidence that to their regulators. Couple that challenge with an increased pressure on banks and practitioners to become more automated and efficient in their approach, and you can see why so many of them are turning to CUBE to address their challenges and accelerate them towards their goals.
What type of emerging technology do you think will have the greatest impact on your business/industry?
Emerging technologies such as the world of the Sematic Web and advanced text analytics strategies including Natural Language Processing (NLP) are currently part of CUBE’s existing platform and are leveraged heavily throughout CUBE’s data enrichment pipeline. These technologies enable CUBE to provide a superior data-rich experience to our customers, who choose CUBE to automate many traditionally manual processes for the field of Regulatory Change Management.
CUBE is also increasingly looking to leverage advanced Machine/Deep Learning techniques, which can add further value to our customer base by providing suggestions / rankings / score ratings and other extremely useful features that our customers will benefit from in terms of automation, cost reduction and increased efficiency and accuracy of their Regulatory Change Management processes.
Why did you join the CRTA? How do you think the CRTA will help your business (industry)?
As CUBE continues to expand globally, Canada is a key jurisdiction that we are very excited to evolve our operations in and provide the Canadian market with the tools and knowledge CUBE has to offer. The CRTA – with its breadth of members and industry/regulatory connections – was an obvious piece of our partnership strategy. As a founding organizational member of the International RegTech Association, the CRTA is a natural fit for CUBE and well aligned to our principles of bringing together the people, tools and policies that are required to thrive in today's rapidly evolving RegTech landscape.
